Through June 7, American Express is offering a 35% bonus on transfers to British Airways Avios, which means that every 1,000 Membership Rewards points transfers to 1,350 BA Avios. I love Avios for short-haul flights so I’d definitely take advantage of this bonus if I had a short trip on the horizon. But I prefer to retain the flexibility of Membership Rewards points, so I’ll take a pass if I don’t have a short trip in mind by the end of the promotion period. American Express has run 30-40% transfer bonuses to BA Avios about twice a year over the past few years, so another one will likely come around.
