The Priceline Rewards Visa Card

PricelineUPDATE:  The 2% cash-back version of the Priceline Rewards Visa card is no longer available.

The Priceline Rewards Visa Card is an excellent but relatively unknown 2% cash-back card that carries no annual fee.  Each dollar spent on the card earns two points, which are redeemable for a penny a piece in the form of statement credits (in $25 increments).  If you use the card to “name your own price” on Priceline.com, you’ll earn 5 points per dollar.  With its simple 2% cash-back rewards scheme and no annual fee, this card is an excellent option for those who don’t mind seeing William Shatner in his best karate pose every time they open their wallets.

Signup Bonus and Fees

There is no annual fee for this card, and the card offers a modest but not insignificant signup bonus of 5,000 points ($50) after your first purchase.  Like most credit cards, a 3% foreign transaction fee is imposed for purchases abroad.

The Rewards

The rewards program for Priceline Visa is pretty straightforward: five points per dollar on name-your-own-price purchases on Priceline.com, and two points per dollar on all other purchases.  The name-your-own-price bonus is nice, but the real value of the card lies in the fact that it offers 2% cash back, across the board, with no annual fee.

The Bottom Line

The Priceline Visa Rewards Card is one of the best cash-back card on the market, offering 2% cash back on all purchases with no annual fee.  It does fall short, however, in its meager $50 signup bonus, especially compared to fellow Barclays offering Barclaycard Arrival World Mastercard, which offers an impressive $440 signup bonus.
